Q: Can anyone come to this event?
A: This event is for adults 21 and older.
Q: Do I need to be experienced at tying things or people before I arrive?
A: All skill levels are welcome! We will have a general class with everyone on Friday night to make sure you'll know everything you need to enjoy the weekend.
Q: Do I need to bring my own bondagee / bondagette or will one be provided?
A: You will probably get more practice time if you bring one however if that is not possible you will probably be able to share or borrow someone to tie and a couple of volunteers may be available during at least some parts of the weekend.
Q: What kind of play can be expected at the party ?
A: The party is a rope-centric, sex positive event. Fireplay is not permitted at this party. Guests are expected to play at or below their experience level. If you will be engaging in edgier or messy place please coordinate witht the organizers in advance.
Q: What supplies do I need to bring with me?
A: We will have vendors at the event with rope for sale however you are free to bring your own rope as you wish. Shoes that go on and come off easily are recommended. We will have water and soft drinks however there is not an adjacent convenience store. You should bring some snacks if you will want them.
Q: Is photography allowed?
A: A room will be set aside during breaks and at that party that is photo friendly. Beyond that photography is prohibited excepted by official event photographers.
Q: What meals are included?
A: Your registration fee includes dinner on Friday and brunch on Sunday. Restaurants and food trucks are nearby for other meals and Austin has many good restaurants featuring a variety of different kinds of food. Consult Yelp or your favorite food site or ask some of the locals. Further guidance will be included in the event program that you will receive upon check-in. Q: Where should I/we stay?
A: There is no official host hotel for the event. Downtown hotels are available but can be somewhat expensive. We encourage people to look along the IH-35 corridor. NOTE: There is NO UT football game schedlued that weekend however we still recommend you make your lodging plans early. For co-housing opportunities, check the Octroperfest Fetlife group.
Q: Where can I learn more and meet or talk to some of the other attendees?
A: Join the Octroperfest Fetlife group to meet and mingle with the other attendees, discuss the event, plan ride or room shares, etc.
